Privacy

Mokushō is a timer for sitting. It does not require an account and does not include third-party analytics or advertising SDKs.
The short version: We do not collect personal data. What the app remembers stays on your devices and, if iCloud is on, within your Apple ID.
Who’s responsible
Mokushō is made by Andreas Jonsson, based in Denmark. For privacy questions, write to hello@mokusho.app.
What the app stores
The app stores timer preferences (duration, open-ended, interval bells), appearance, whether a daily reminder is on and at what time, and a lifetime total of time sitting. While a sitting is in progress it also keeps enough local state to restore that sitting.
That data lives on the iPhone. If iCloud is on, a copy sits in Apple’s iCloud Key-Value Store so the total and preferences can sync across your devices. When both copies exist, the app keeps the larger lifetime total.
I cannot see this data. There is no Mokushō server.
Notifications and Live Activities
If you allow notifications, Mokushō can schedule a local daily reminder and local bells for a sitting. Those notifications are created on device. A Live Activity can show the current sitting on the Lock Screen. Nothing is sent to a Mokushō server — there isn’t one.
Purchases
If you buy Mokushō, the purchase goes through Apple. We never see your card details.
What we don’t collect
No name, email, location, contacts, or usage analytics. No advertising and no tracking. There is no Mokushō account and no sitting history other than the one lifetime total in the app.
Sharing
We do not share user data with third parties. There are no analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs in the app.
Apple provides the App Store, iCloud, notifications, and Live Activities. Apple’s privacy policy covers Apple’s services.
Retention and deletion
Data stays as long as the app is installed, and as long as a copy remains in iCloud.
Delete the app to clear what is on the iPhone. To clear the iCloud copy, turn off iCloud for Mokushō or delete the app’s iCloud data in Apple’s settings.
If you write to hello@mokusho.app asking us to delete data, we will confirm — there is nothing on a Mokushō server to erase.
Your rights
Under GDPR you can ask to see, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal data, and you can object to certain uses. Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to export from a server. You can also complain to your local data protection authority — in Denmark, that is Datatilsynet.
Children
Mokushō is not directed at children. We do not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top.
